I don't write much here because most of my thoughts are being put into my LJ account. I still come onto DeviantArt every day, I just don't have much art or art news to post here. This place is good for posting art stuff, and I will continue to do so, albeit slowly

Nope, not dead

Just thought I'd update my journal with something... I'm in my last semester of college, so I'm kind of nervous with what I'm going to do after graduation. I'm not sure where I'm going to live, but I'd like to stay in California. I would like to work in either alternate energy (specifically wind energy) or work in the movie industry doing the 3D effects such as props and set minis and/or prostheses. If both of those fall through, I'll probably work on Edward's Air Force Base. They're always looking for engineers XD

I have 8 am classes every day, so I've been trying really hard to get to bed earlier, and failing miserably. I nap a lot more now :3

Hehehehe... President Obama... :3 the inaguration was pretty amazing. I got to watch it with a bunch of other students on Sproul Plaza. Someone anonymously donated the rental of a huge screen so students could watch. Needless to say I missed my first day of class because of that.

I'm trying to teach myself Qwerty, because the GRE won't allow people to type in Dvorak. Fuck you GRE people.


I think I want to do the sketch meme thing [link] but I need ya'll to give me random words. If I don't make it to ten, then I'll do what I can with what you give me.

Lessee... any questions? I can't really think of what to write.

PS I don't have any good pictures of my Cooking Mama costume. The lighting on the pictures my brother and I took was pretty poor. I'll put up a picture in scraps if you really care XD

I don't usually post stuff on politics, especially here on DeviantArt, but I feel this is too important to leave unspoken about.

Vote NO on 8.

Proposition 8 is an initiative measure on the 2008 California General Election ballot titled "Eliminates Right of Same-Sex Couples to Marry". If passed, the proposition would "change the California Constitution to eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry in California." A new section would be added stating "only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California." (copied from Wikipedia)

I know of NO solid or reasonable argument against gay marriage that is not based in religion, and one of the founding principles of this country is a seperation of church and state, and the government shall make no law favoring one religion or another. Writing discrimination into the California Constitution based on religion bias goes against everything this country stands for.

Even if you are personally against gay marriage, if you believe for what this country stands for, then vote NO on 8, and keep discrimination OUT of the California Constitution.

Vote. If you are over 18, for the love of country and self-determination get out there and VOTE.

PS The polls are currently showing Yes > No on 8. Help out! If you want to do something, talk to your friends and family and help them understand what a bad idea passing Prop 8 would be (on an economic level, California actually got a boost from gay marriage weddings ) Some conversation starters can be found here: [link] and if you want to do a little more, you can donate here: [link]

Turns out I spend more time posting random drabble about myself on LiveJournal. Still come here for art stuff though :3

Well, as of an hour ago, I'm 21! First thing I did: my friend drove me to Safeway and I got a 6-pack of Smirnoff Ice, Green Apple Bite ^___^ the time on the receipt is 00:06 Later today I'm going to a wine store and getting a couple bottles, one red and one white.

Some basic updates:
*Most of the drawings I do now are sketches. No real time or motivation to work on something I could post here, though I may go through my sketches and find my favorites to post (depending on... you guessed it, time and motivation )

*I have, however, had time to do an AWESOME group video using various 3D programs in one of my classes last semester to make a ~5 minute video on how my beautiful bow is put together :3 so much work was put into the damn video, and I feel really narcissistic watching it over and over again but I've very proud of my group! We worked really well together, and I'm very happy with the result: [link] if you're interested.

*No Comic Con this year for me I really wish I could go, but I'm in the midst of summer classes... if I hadn't failed those classes, I wouldn't be doing summer stuff, but failing is part of college, and learning how to cover your ass when you fail is part of it as well XD

*I'm going to South Korea for the last two weeks of Summer before school I'm going with the Cal Archery team and we get to train at KNSU (Korean National Sport University). Those people are SO GOOD it's INSANE. It is said that South Korea has two national sports: Starcraft and Archery, so hopefully I get to learn some new stuff and get better.

*I can't imagine what else I could write here... I got a haircut? XD I think I'll make a new DA ID using one of the better pictures.

*Oh! My LJ account is under the same name, raeraem.

*Random fact: my DA account number is 418011. That's in the hundred thousands... DA is currently in the MILLIONS. I've been on DA since May 29, 2003. (to find yours, go here [link] )

No guarantees they'll be uploaded fast or be high quality (week of midterms coming up ) but it'll give me a good excuse to upload more art XD I only really do sketches nowadays, so I don't feel like any of it is good enough to upload.
