My Tobi costume. Made in the week before Anime LA :3

I've pretty much always wanted to make a Tobi costume because he's such a goofball, and because I wanted to make that mask which was the hardest part of the costume. I chose to do pre-Akatsuki version because I really don't like Akatsuki cloaks. I think this is the first costume in which I made a pair of pants and a shirt. I needed a really high turtle-neck in the same color as the pants, so I figured I'd just make my own instead of trying to match shades of black. I ended up using 4 types of black cloth, 3 of which I already had, yay for scraps!

Seeing out of that mask was such a pain XD I tried to stay as true to the character as I could and tried to avoid taking off the mask when in public. I had to take it off once or twice though

Technical Stuff
-The mask is paperclay on a plastic mask base and an elastic band around the head w/two clasps in back.
-The shoes I made using Liz.Spain's tutorial that I used for my Yondaime shoes ( [link] ) The one problem with this picture is that it doesn't show my shoes
-Shirt and pants pattern borrowed from my mother
-The strange flap things on the arms and legs are black cloth wrapped around craft foam.

I've been getting quite a few questions on how I made my mask and costume, so I want to just get this out of the way real quick:

I don't have a tutorial on how I made the mask and I'm afraid there won't be. Why?
1) I really don't like the technique I used to make the mask (resulted in MASSIVE cracking)
2) I don't have any progress pictures, which is kind of necessary when making a tutorial, especially with crafts.

Cosplay.com has some basic mask stuff, I recommend checking them out.

As for the rest of the costume... I recommend figuring that out for yourself or ask people on cosplay.com. They're there to help, I'm just here to show off what I have with a basic description It's not my job to design your costume, and you need to do what works for you. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but part of what I find so enjoyable about costuming is learning how to make it and trying new things.

Now, if you have a specific question about which pattern or what material I used, I'll be happy to tell you, but it takes far too much time to write a step-by-step description of an entire costume without prior intention (in which I would have taken progress pictures and notes).
